After our last chat with Tyler from Contessi Build, we thought we’d continue our Partner Q&A series with a catch up with Martin from Tempo Living. Today Martin tells us his firsthand experience working with AusSteel and AusSteel’s Ultimate Building System. Take it away, Martin!
What initially led you to select AusSteel over other steel framing suppliers?
Moving to steel frames was a huge call for Tempo Living. At the time we made the decision, we were 6 carpenters by trade and had questions that we needed answered to convince us to move to steel frames. We met with several steel frame manufacturers and were impressed with AusSteel’s product. Everything had been thought of. All trades that erect the frame and trusses and those that work with and work around the frame, joists and trusses had been considered. AusSteel had already consulted with the relevant trades and addressed any concerns.
Are there any features or points of difference with AusSteel or AusSteel’s Ultimate Building System that are particularly important to you and your company?
All trades that erect the frame and trusses and those that work with and work around the frame, joists and trusses had been considered in the design process. The cost engineering service provided by AusSteel meant that we could build our homes safer and more efficiently, meaning thousands of dollars in savings for our customers.
After using AusSteel supply, have you ever left AusSteel in favour of another supplier? And if so, what was the reason you returned?
Yes, we used a competitor for a small project of 7 homes. This decision was based on price, we were tight on budget and really had no choice. The competitor’s quality was good, however, the smarts included in an AusSteel frame were not there. We have always had a strong and honest relationship with AusSteel and this has now meant we’re 100% exclusive AusSteel frames. We want to grow our business relationship and be regarded as a major account.
In your opinion, has AusSteel continued and/or improved its quality of product and service in the time AusSteel has been your preferred supply partner? Are there any improvements you would like to see moving forward?
Service has improved. I would put this down to the strong relationship that Gary has built with our team. This not only includes our design and procurement team, but also construction including our trades and with our sales team.
If there was one sentence that described our supply relationship, what would it be?
Honest, transparent, robust, and respectful.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Look forward to building on our relationship and your support to ensure the future success of AusSteel and Tempo Living.
Cheers, Martin! It’s been AusSteel’s pleasure to work with Tempo Living.
